Job description

The expected salary range for this position is $139,250.00 - $163,607.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. The principle architect is an integration architecture subject matter expert, influencing teams of architects and navigating clients through complex architecture practices to drive the achievement of organizational objectives. Further, this architect drives detailed and complex integration architecture projects, particularly relating to continual improvement of practices throughout Compassion's global organization. He/she demonstrates a mastery of related business process, priorities and business architecture. At this career level, the incumbent provides highly competent leadership in the conduct of major, complex initiatives, architectures and implementations for multiple countries. The incumbent has a mastery of Compassions technologies features and functions, demonstrates system thinking and reassembles technology investments to maximize reuse and gain economies of scale. Further, he or she frequently coaches and oversees the work of other specialists and related staff and provides expertise across levels and disciplines.

What will you do?

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.

  • Drives work teams to plan, research, and design secure integrated global systems that enable organizational objectives and address release train demand. Negotiates complex tradeoffs between business and technical implications focusing on fit for purpose and cost to value solutions. Is a subject matter expert in technical understanding of all global systems, security and networks.

  • Manages and may oversee continual improvement to Compassion's architectural runway (applications, infrastructure and security). Develops and implements technology roadmaps and manages the architectural runway. Consults with leadership and cross-functional management teams to provide insights and direction on economies of scale, technology product upgrades, and opportunities for technology retirement and technology global roadmap progress.

  • Analyzes and develops complex work patterns and standards to speed the release train, reduce risk and gain economies of scale and promote technology re-use. Develops Architecture Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), success measures and metrics.

  • Champions conceptual, logical, and physical architectures in accordance with company standards and requirements across the global organization.

  • Networks among cross-functional team leaders and management to ensure compliance with technology standards that speed the release train and promote technology/investment reuse and security. May occasionally provide high-level troubleshooting, redesign and solutions.

  • Maintains a strong partnership with key technical vendor relationships in coordination with Compassion procurement and Technical Product Management.  Leads efforts regarding vendor management, escalations and negotiations for strategic vendors. Plays a key role in the evaluation of technology procurements to include evaluations based on global ministry objectives, technical fit and cost benefit analysis.

  • Frequently coaches, provides expertise, and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in the integration department or division.

  • Proficiency with AWS cloud services and solutions

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Workday integration patterns

  • Ability to integrate and modernize non‑platform systems such as Kubernetes and custom software

  • Hands‑on experience with Snowflake for big data and data fabric solution
