Reporting to the Senior Manager of Software Contracts, this position is for an experienced contracts professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise in software and digital technology contracts administration.  Will oversee multiple contract negotiations for the organization and guides Indirect Commodity business professionals on risk management and protecting business interests. Ensures implementation of significant improvements to processes to enhance department performance and effectiveness.

What You Will Do:

  • Manages multiple projects of varying scope and complexity.

  • Drafts, generates, negotiates, interprets and manages complex contract documents, in accordance with internal and external customer schedules and requests, to ensure these documents properly reflect business objectives.

  • Coordinates inputs from the Commodity Team, Engineering, Legal, Procurement, etc. to structure contracts in compliance with company policies.

  • Reviews and interprets supplier redlines/objections to RTX Terms and Conditions and negotiates appropriate contract language to maintain manageable legal risk for the company.

  • Analyzes contracts to ensure compliance to company policies, government and commercial specifications and other requirements.

  • Utilizes legal resources and other subject matter experts to ensure all levels of risk are recognized and subsequently addressed through development of negotiated contract terms and conditions.

  • Prepares approval requests to the team leader to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon legal parameters.

  • Coaches,  mentors and cross-trains junior professionals and may review their work to ensure output is of quality and in accordance with business objectives

  • Assists leadership on training employees to ensure understanding of and adherence to contract law related to the business and technology transactions.

  • Advises and assists with team macroplanning activities and proposes/develops/implements strategies to improve current processes, policies, and standards related to contract management.

  • Works with the Law Group to understand and communicate contract legal matters to the Indirect Supply Chain organization.

  • Maintains historical legal approval records.

  • Communicates with executive leadership regarding contractual matters of significance to the organization.

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Experience in Supply Chain Contracting

  • Experience with IT, software contracts, data privacy, AI and complex technology transactions

  • Juris Doctor or Advanced Degree in Business Administration

  • Experience working in a large matrixed organization

  • Experience with Ariba’s contracts administration tools/procedures

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
