Job Description

This role will support Export Control and Sanctions matters for Continental Tires Sector in APAC region, cooperating with export control managers in other regions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of export control and sanctions compliance within the APAC region and demonstrate a strong ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement export control and sanctions compliance strategies and programs across the APAC region (mainly responsible for Thailand, Malaysia, and India)
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments identifying potential areas of vulnerability and risk within the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments including legal, sales, logistics, and engineering to ensure alignment with export control and sanctions regulations.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on export control and sanctions matters to senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead crossborder projects related to export control and sanctions, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Organize and deliver training sessions on export control and sanctions compliance to employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Stay abreast of changes in export control and sanctions laws and regulations, and assess the potential impact on the organizations operations.

      Qualifications

      1. Education and Certification

      • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Law, Administration, Economics, or related fields; advanced degree preferred.
      • Professional certification in a relevant area is preferred.
        • 2. Professional Experience

          • At least 5 years in export control and sanctions roles, with a preference for experience in relevant industries.
          • Experience managing export control and sanctions compliance within a multinational corporation, preferable with exposure to the APAC region.
          • Strong understanding of APAC regions export control laws and international sanctions regimes.
            • 3. Intercultural International Experience

              • Significant experience working in a multicultural environment, preferably in the APAC region.
              • Excellent crosscultural communication skills
                • 4. Others

                  • Familiarity with compliance programs and projects.
                  • Familiarity with conducting risk assessments and internal audits.
                  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams.
                  • Strong interpersonal and consensusbuilding skills.
