About the Role 

Pine Gate Renewables is seeking an Associate Project Development Engineer to support the engineering and development of utility-scale solar projects. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals passionate about renewable energy and eager to contribute to the design and development of solar power systems. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Assist in creating conceptual design layouts and zoning plans for photovoltaic (PV) power plants using AutoCAD Civil3D, PVcase, PVFarm, and other design tools.
  • Evaluate project site viability using GIS data and mapping tools.
  • Support the development of Stormwater and Erosion Control (SEC) and calculations.
  • Contribute to early-stage electrical layout designs.
  • Develop energy models using Plant Predict and PVsyst software.
  • Assist in estimating EPC costs by identifying and documenting site features that impact project budgets.
  • Collaborate with Interconnection Engineers to prepare utility interconnection applications.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to address challenges related to land use, system configuration, energy production, and construction costs. 

Must-Haves 

  • 0-2 or more years’ experience in a similar role preferred. 
  • Proficiency in CAD, PV Farm or similar drafting applications 

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field preferred. 

Working Environment  

  • Remote with up to 10% travel.
