The Role

As an API Solutions Engineer at Crunchbase, you’ll be the go-to technical expert for our Revenue Organization, bridging the gap between product capabilities and customer needs. You’ll lead technical demos, run proof of concepts, respond to security questionnaires and technical questions, and provide deep expertise on our data, APIs, and CRM integrations. This role spans the full customer lifecycle, from pre-sales solution design to post-sales onboarding, adoption, and ongoing technical support.

You’ll partner closely with the Customer Success, Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to troubleshoot complex API and data challenges, design and optimize workflows, and enable internal teams through training and tooling. This position requires strong fluency in APIs, SQL, and CRM platforms, as well as an AI-first mindset to streamline processes and improve efficiency across the organization.

What You'll Do
  • Lead technical product demos and proof of concepts (POCs) to showcase Crunchbase’s platform, data, and integrations, and prepare supporting technical documentation such as RFPs and security questionnaires.
  • Serve as the internal API expert for Crunchbase, providing best practices, technical guidance, and integration support.
  • Partner with internal teams and customers to design, troubleshoot, and optimize complex API workflows, including data mapping, enrichment, and bulk processing.
  • Develop and maintain API and data documentation, example queries, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to identify bugs, propose enhancements, and improve API output consistency.
  • Provide timely technical support to internal teams and customers, fulfilling ad-hoc requests (e.g., data pulls, CSV exports), and contributing to projects such as legacy key migrations, Salesforce enrichment updates, and other customer success initiatives.
  • Leverage AI tools and machine learning to automate repetitive tasks and improve workflows for both customers and internal teams
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Who You Are
  • 5+ years of experience delivering technical solutions in a customer-facing role within B2B SaaS or data-driven environments
  • Skilled at designing, troubleshooting, and optimizing API workflows, including entity mapping, enrichment, error handling, and bulk processing
  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce integrations, workflows, and enrichment processes, with the ability to address common technical challenges
  • Proficient in SQL for querying and validating large datasets, and comfortable using scripting languages like JavaScript or Python for API testing, automation, and data validation
  • Experienced in both pre-sales (technical discovery, demos, proof of concepts) and post-sales (onboarding, adoption, troubleshooting) support
  • Able to translate technical capabilities into clear business value for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Familiar with tools such as Postman, Zapier, Snowflake, Databricks, and AI/ML platforms like OpenAI or Anthropic
  • Knowledgeable about AI/ML APIs, model deployment, and integration patterns, with an understanding of data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA

Salary Range
$137,084$161,275 USD
