Job description

ICF is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to support a large Strategy and Business Solutions Support Contract. If you are looking for an opportunity to help inform and direct IT investment modernization effort, join our team. This position is predominantly remote; however, you may be required to work at the Federal client’s location in Arlington, VA on occasions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working on an advanced, complex technical project requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.

  • Analyzing large and complex datasets to identify business trends, patterns, problems, and insights.

  • Interpreting results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.

  • Developing and implementing machine learning models and algorithms.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.

  • Designing, developing, and implementing the most valuable business solutions for the organization.

  • Preparing big data, implementing data models, and developing database(s) to support business solutions.

  • Using data analytics and Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) to recommend support for business needs.

  • Communicating findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Designing and maintaining data pipelines and workflows.

  • Performing data wrangling, cleansing, and preprocessing to ensure data quality.

  • Working with project team members, subject matter experts, and senior leadership.

What you’ll need:

  • 10 years of experience.

  • US Citizenship (required by federal government).

  • Master’s degree.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience working in the government and the financial industry

  • Experience in applying Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning to solve business needs.

Experience in the following areas:

  • Providing expertise, leadership, and guidance as it relates to Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning.

  • Identifying trends, patterns, and problems by analyzing complex and unstructured data.

  • Designing, developing, and implementing viable business solutions to determine feasibility.

  • Designing and implementing underlying data models and databases.

  • Interpreting results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.

  • Understanding end goals for projects and working autonomously as appropriate.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience with Big Data Technologies.

  • Familiarity with containerization and DevOps practices.

  • Experience with ETL tools and data integration.

  • Working understanding of Federal IT services models and frameworks to support the project team to meet client requirements.

  • Exceptional verbal and writing communication skills, including editing and proofreading.

  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and outstanding level of professionalism in providing client support.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$118,730.00 - $201,840.00
