Job Title: Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics

Location: Remote/Hybrid - USA

Reports to: Chief Information Officer

Department Name: Development

Job Type: Full Time, Exempt

 

Position Summary

The Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics is responsible for Oversee the development and implementation of business intelligence tools and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses. Reporting to the CIO you will play a crucial role in creating data products and solutions that scale and drive adoption of these data products throughout the organization.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and deployment of effective data visualization and reporting solutions to support decision-making processes across the organization.
  • Manage cross-functional teams to identify business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs and requirements.
  • Establish and enforce governance and policies for data management and usage, ensuring data accuracy and security.
  • Collaborate closely with CIO, Director of Enterprise Technology and Director of Product Management to form a cohesive, synergetic IT Leadership team.
  • Collaborate with IT and data management teams to ensure the architecture supports the business intelligence needs of the organization.
  • Drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making practices within the organization, promoting a culture of analytical thinking.
  • Evaluate and select third-party vendors, tools, and services for data analytics and business intelligence projects.
  • Spearhead special projects to explore innovative business intelligence technologies and methodologies for enhancing organizational competitiveness.
  • Ability to travel and/or work onsite up to 20%.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This job supervises a Data Engineer and two (2) Junior BI Developers.

Experience & Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field required.
  •  15+ years of relevant experience in BI development, or enterprise data strategy.
  •  Strong experience in business intelligence, and enterprise data systems, with a proven ability to influence business direction through data.
  •  Data Architecture Oversight: Lead and optimize our Azure SQL based data warehouse data modeling to support scalable reporting and analytics.
  •  Data Visualization: Create customized Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations to meet the diverse needs of stakeholders.
  •  Data Governance and Quality: Establish and enforce data governance standards to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across the organization.
  •  Advanced knowledge of Power BI, Fabric, PowerQuery, SQL, and modern data modeling techniques.
  •  Skilled at identifying the right questions to ask, and translating business needs into scalable data solutions.
  •  Excellent communicator with the ability to present insights in a way that drives decision-making at the leadership level.
  •  Experience managing cross-functional projects and building strong internal partnerships.
  •  Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on development work when needed.
  •  Collaborative, adaptable, and highly responsive to a fast-changing environment.
  •  Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  •  Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle inquiries and requests efficiently and professionally.
  •  Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of program management.
  •  A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
  •  Ability to work independently while also being a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
