Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

Join BILL as a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (Payments) and help drive the evolution of our automated payment platform. As an integral member of the Customer Operations team focused on Virtual Card, you will harness Python, SQL, Tableau, and a suite of analytics and automation tools to unlock actionable insights and build scalable, production-grade solutions. Your expertise will power key strategies, streamline vendor payment operations, and boost operational excellence by automating manual processes and developing robust models and reports.

You will be empowered to work autonomously, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and champion the adoption of best practices and innovative thinking in analytics and software development. Success means not only optimizing performance and growing BILL’s payment network, but also shaping how data influences decision-making and efficiency across our high-impact business domain.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze BILL’s payment network to inform operational decision-making, identify growth opportunities, and track/report on KPIs that drive the business forward.
  • Use Python, SQL, Tableau, Starburst, Quickbase, and other tools to gather data, automate workflows, develop codebases, build dashboards, and deliver recommendations.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders and subject matter experts to define, develop, and implement well-architected solutions to complex business problems.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of analytics and automation projects - from intake and requirements gathering to delivery and deployment.
  • Proactively triage ad-hoc requests, sanity-check outputs, and continuously identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, and process improvement.
  • Present insights and recommendations to both technical and leadership audiences, supporting high-visibility initiatives within Virtual Card operations.

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a quantitative field, with 5+ years relevant experience; or a Master’s with 3+ years related experience.
  • 5-8 years of hands-on experience with Python (required), including development of scripts and automation code.
  • 5-8 years of advanced SQL experience applied to large, complex datasets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical techniques such as A/B testing and regression modeling.
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly, a strong developer mindset, and experience working with APIs, dashboards (Tableau), and version control.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining both technical and complex business concepts to diverse audiences.
  • A track record of automating manual processes, delivering thoughtful results on tight timelines, and operating with high curiosity and initiative.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with GitLab, Linux, AWS (Glue, Redshift), dbt, Quickbase, or other cloud/data engineering tools.
