About the role

Due to continuous growth, we are seeking an ambitious and detailoriented Data Analyst – Payments Specialist to drive dataled insights and support our payments strategy during a critical expansion phase. As a fastgrowing B2C company with a strong presence in the US and European markets, we are focused on scaling our brand, optimising payment performance, and enhancing fraud prevention. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of digital payment ecosystems, transactional data, and customer behaviour. You will play a key role in analysing payment trends, identifying inefficiencies, preventing fraud, and enabling datadriven decisionmaking across our payments and risk operations.

Key Responsibilities:

You’re our perfect candidate if you:

  • Investigate, prioritise, and document anomalies in payments data and fraud patterns to support rapid issue resolution and risk mitigation.
  • Use advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, IF conditions) to analyse payment transactions, identify unusual behaviour, and support reconciliation efforts.
  • Ensure data accuracy across payment systems by validating transaction records and flagging inconsistencies or suspicious activity.
  • Identify trends in payment failures, chargebacks, and fraud attempts to drive process improvements and reduce financial risk.
  • Implement consumer data acquisition strategies and ecommerce analytics with a focus on optimising payment funnel performance and detecting fraud signals.
  • Build and apply consumer segmentation and profiling models to detect highrisk behaviours and improve fraud prevention tactics.
  • Respond to data analysis requests from fraud teams, compliance, finance, and operations with a focus on payment performance and fraud detection insights.
  • Retrieve, clean, and prepare transactional data for deep analysis of payment patterns, fraud triggers, and refund behaviours.
  • Contribute to daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting on payments KPIs, fraud rates, authorization success rates, and risk events.
  • Perform indepth analysis on large volumes of payments and fraudrelated data using advanced techniques to extract actionable insights.
  • Define and enforce data quality standards specific to payments and fraud monitoring systems, ensuring high confidence in realtime decisions.
  • Maintain expertise in analytics tools and practices relevant to payments processing, fraud detection, and compliance reporting.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, risk, and business intelligence teams to embed data quality controls across payments and fraud pipelines.
  • Create and optimise metrics and dashboards to monitor payment success, fraud incidents, transaction declines, and risk thresholds.
  • Communicate key insights on payment performance and fraud trends to stakeholders, driving crossfunctional initiatives for improvement.
  • Research discrepancies in payment data and correct records to ensure accurate transaction histories and trustworthy reporting.
  • Monitor realtime analytics dashboards for drops in payment success rates or spikes in fraud indicators, enabling swift investigation and escalation.
  • Review and act on data control alerts related to payment processing, chargebacks, fraud scoring models, and transaction integrity.
  • Continuously analyse payment flows to detect fraud attempts, reduce false positives, and improve approval rates through datadriven strategies.
    • Requirements

      Your expertise in a nutshell:

      • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, in payments, fraud, or transactional data.
      • Strong SQL skills and experience with large datasets and relational databases.
      • Proficient in BIreporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and Excel.
      • Solid understanding of digital payment systems, chargebacks, fraud indicators, and PSPs.
      • Experience with data modelling, ETL processes, and data quality best practices.
      • Familiarity with Python, R, or statistical tools (SPSS, SAS) is a plus.
      • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with keen attention to detail.
      • Ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
      • Proactive, wellorganized, and adaptable in a fastpaced environment.
      • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
      • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Computer Science)
