Job description

Job Description:

The Pre-Access Central Scheduler II serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in the department to accurately
Schedule and pre-registers patients for appointments, outpatient visits, procedures, and other appointments captured by the department. Complete any administrative work that goes along with scheduling the appointment. Transcribe any external orders from Physican. Handle high call volumes for multiple locations and departments. Trains and/or mentors' new caregivers. Trains and/or mentors' new caregivers



Essential Functions

  • As a SME this individual has more specialized knowledge of the Pre-Access Central Scheduler role
  • All duties as assigned to a Pre-Access Central Scheduler I.
  • Responsible for mentoring new and existing caregivers, in collaboration with Lead
  • Participates in continued education development and engages with/on internal committees 
  • Has extensive knowledge on templates to identify breaks or problems as they arise
  • Effectively escalates issues which cannot be resolved independently
  • Maintains department/individual work queues
  • Meets or exceeds departmental productivity and quality standards.
  • Promotes mission, vision, and values and abides by service behavior standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Customer service and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Basic Medical Insurance Knowledge
  • Proficient ability to work with technical accuracy in a remote atmosphere
  • Multi-Channel Phone Experience
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload in high volume environment
  • Proficient in use of CPT, ICD-10 codes and medical terminology
  • Complex Problem Solving 
  • Detail oriented with above average organizational and time management skills
  • Skilled in navigating web-based tools, scheduling resources and task specific tools
  • Achieve a passing score on level 2 examination.

    Qualifications

    • Required: High school diploma or equivalent OR (4) years of revenue cycle experience.
    • Required: Minimum 2 years previous experience as a Pre-Access Central Scheduler I

    Physical Requirements

    • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
    • Frequent customer interactions require employees to communicate and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
    • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
    • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

    $18.81 - $24.99
