Job description

Why join us

Brex is the AI-powered spend platform. We help companies spend with confidence with integrated corporate cards, banking, and global payments, plus intuitive software for travel and expenses. Tens of thousands of companies from startups to enterprises — including DoorDash, Flexport, and Compass — use Brex to proactively control spend, reduce costs, and increase efficiency on a global scale.

Working at Brex allows you to push your limits, challenge the status quo, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry. We’re committed to building a diverse team and inclusive culture and believe your potential should only be limited by how big you can dream. We make this a reality by empowering you with the tools, resources, and support you need to grow your career.

Marketing at Brex

The Marketing team tells the Brex story, determines messaging and positioning, and translates our products and features into tangible customer benefits. Our marketers — across Revenue Marketing, Product Marketing, and Brand Marketing — are responsible for acquiring new customers and have a deep understanding of the business. We’re a highly cross-functional team and partner most closely with the Product, Sales, Business Development, and Design teams to show our prospects and customers how we can help them reach their full potential.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Event Marketing Manager, you'll be a key player on our dynamic events team. You will develop and implement innovative event marketing strategies to elevate brand awareness, engage our target audiences, and directly contribute to the sales team's growth. Collaborating closely with the events marketing lead, you will plan and execute revenue-generating events, encompassing everything from major industry conferences and regional trade shows to exclusive speaking engagements. Your efforts will be instrumental in expanding the sales pipeline for the Brex Empower platform, fostering stronger relationships with our existing customers, and highlighting our newest products and core brand values.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting large-scale corporate events from start to finish, and is a self-starter who can prioritize workload with shifting priorities.

Where you’ll work

This role will be based in our San Francisco office. You must be willing to work in the office at least two days per week on Wednesday and Thursday. Employees can work remotely for up to four weeks per year.

Responsibilities

  • Research, plan, and execute end-to-end event marketing strategies aligned with overall business objectives, covering a diverse portfolio of events such as industry conferences, trade shows, regional events, and speaking engagements.
  • Leverage deep industry knowledge to identify and prioritize participation in key tech events, conferences, and trade shows that maximize brand exposure and sales opportunities.
  • Manage all logistical aspects of events, including vendor coordination, contract negotiation, and cross-functional team alignment to ensure seamless, high-quality event execution.
  • Utilize project management tools such as G Suite, Monday.com, Coupa, and IronClad to streamline event planning processes and maintain clear communication across teams.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive event budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and continuous monitoring of expenses throughout the event lifecycle. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising event quality.
Negotiate contracts with vendors, venues, and suppliers, securing favorable terms and maintaining strong relationships to guarantee smooth execution of contracted services.
  • Ensure consistent brand representation and messaging at all events by collaborating closely with creative teams to develop event collateral, signage, and promotional materials that reinforce company positioning and values.
  • Implement strategies to maximize attendee engagement, lead generation, and overall positive event experiences that contribute directly to the sales pipeline.
  • Conduct thorough post-event analysis, including ROI measurement and attendee feedback gathering, using data-driven insights to continuously refine and optimize future event strategies and tactics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, and marketing teams to align event activities with broader marketing and business goals.
  • Build and nurture relationships with industry partners, associations, and influencers to extend event reach, amplify brand impact, and create new partnership opportunities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in event marketing, specifically within the tech industry.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is required; certifications such as CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) or CTSM (Certified Trade Show Marketer) are a plus.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan and manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships both internally and externally.
  • Proficiency with software tools including Google Drive/Suite, Monday.com, Salesforce.com, Marketo, and Coupa.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, vendor management, and budget oversight.
Analytical mindset with experience measuring, reporting, and optimizing event success using data-driven insights.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
Comfortable working under tight deadlines and managing last-minute changes with composure.
Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% for onsite event setup, supervision, and management.

Bonus points

  • Experience in managing User Conferences
  •  Proficiency in Sales Notion, Luma, and Ironclad
  • Knowledge of the fintech industry
  • Ability to pivot with a sense of urgency/humor
