WHAT YOU’LL DO
This role is focused on continually holding a high bar for teacher leadership, ensuring that vision comes to life in the field via strong collaboration with a variety of teams within CMLD and across the organization. This candidate is deeply knowledgeable about classroom outcomes specific to novice teachers (teaching practices and student experience) as well as adult leadership development. This person is both a generalist in great teaching and learning as well as holds specific expertise. The ideal candidate is passionate about ensuring that CMs have what they need when they need it at every moment across the continuum, and that their ecosystem of support results in coherent and high-quality experiences and outcomes. They are able to continually sharpen our program model based on research, best practices, and what we are learning about implementation in the field.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Contributing to the actualization of teacher leadership and teacher development holistically, with a specific area of expertise in teaching practices, student outcomes and experience, or resilience.
Supporting the ongoing development and evolution of TFA’s ecosystem of support to ensure quality, relevance, and alignment with our vision of teacher leadership based on current research in the field, best practices in adult learning, and programmatic outcomes .
Curating and designing learning experiences and resources for CMs, staff and external partners grounded in our vision of teacher leadership.
Partnering with implementation teams to ensure the programmatic model results in strong outcomes for CMs, students, and communities.
Evolving and improving programming given consistent evidence-based reflections.
Operating flexibly to channel skills and capacity to meet the needs of emerging projects or priorities as they arise.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications
2 or more years of teaching experience in an ECE-12th grade setting (preferably in low-income communities) with strong student outcomes
7+ years of aligned professional work experience
Extensive prior experience and expertise in novice teacher training and development
Extensive prior experience and expertise in adult learning, inclusive of design and facilitation
Excels in initiating, setting vision and strategy, and managing complex projects through to strong results
Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to work collaboratively in dynamic organizational environments, developing strong internal and external relationships
Ability to influence and motivate others laterally, including across other functional teams
Strong communication skills with a variety of audiences in a variety of formats; ability to translate research and theory into practice
Desire to constantly learn and improve; track record of making improvements to programmatic offerings based on feedback and lessons learned (including quantitative and qualitative data)
Commitment to educational excellence and opportunity for all

THE TEAM
The Corps Member Leadership Development team (CMLD) develops and supports CMs’ knowledge, skills, perspective, and conviction to advance the academic and personal growth of the students they teach. We also prepare and grow CMs as leaders working among a broader movement toward localized 2030 goals now and beyond their 2-year commitment.
The Program Strategy & Design subteam (PSD) sets and stewards the strategic vision and direction for the CM experience that ensures excellence in teaching, student outcomes, and leadership development. PSD makes design decisions aligned to the CMLD strategy, shaping responsive, field-informed programming that develops CMs as transformative classroom and lifelong leaders.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary range for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Tier A: $86,500-$111,500
Tier B: $94,300-$121,500
Tier C: $102,200-$131,600
