The Automation Project Engineer III position is responsible for the needs analysis, design, development, implementation, management, and troubleshooting of multiple automation and process controls design projects with an emphasis on designing to overall project budgets. The incumbent will provide design leadership to multi-person design team to deliver overall project automation designs and will be comfortable acting as a discipline lead in any multi- disciplined environment.  The incumbent will also provide quality control and consulting as needed for other customer projects performed by Faith. The ideal candidate is proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite and must have experience with PLC program development, and HMI/SCADA development.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field

Experience: 10 plus  years’ experience. Experience with robotics preferred. 

Requires advanced knowledge of control networks, network architecture, communication protocols, and legacy control systems. PE preferred.

Travel: 10-30%

Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday – Friday; However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads clients and other subcontractors interaction to define/clarify design intent.
  • Leads development of department design standards and procedures.
  • Establishes design criteria for automation and process control projects.
  • Interfaces with CAD department to develop drawings for projects.
  • Acts as the primary resource for estimating project design requirements.
  • Provides guidance to project managers to ensure that construction activities comply with specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Ensures projects are documented properly and effectively using customer requirements as well as Faith's prescribed standards and practices.
  • Coordinates and assists Automation Engineers with project startup and service activities.
  • Leads software development for PLC and Operator Interface programming and assists with MES programming.
  • Establishes and follows Faith Technologies design standards.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
