We are now recruiting a
Director (m/f/d) R&D Project Office
The position is within Maquet GmbH in the Research & Development department of the Surgical Workflows Business Area at the Rastatt site, with R&D operations in Americas, Europe and Asia encompassing two main groups Surgical Workplaces (SWP) and Infection Control (IC).
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead and represent the Project Management Office department, including technical and disciplinary management of the team
- Lead on Innovation & Digitalization initiatives, supporting the development of its methodologies and processes and developing the existing strategy and action plan together with the present manager
- Optimize the department's organization in coordination with the R&D Directors for SWP and IC
- Implement and monitor operational and legal requirements
- Plan resources and budgets for the department
- Ensure quality-compliant development of medical devices in accordance with the quality systems and manuals
- Define, implement, and optimize development processes, methods, and organization, while monitoring the department's work results (including efficiency and quality) and supporting assigned processes
- Develop and enhance project management processes, best practices, and competencies for the R&D department
- Ensure employees have the necessary competencies and qualifications
- Collaborate on project key figures, methodologies and ensure key performance indicators are achieved during implementation
- Act as a neutral authority to monitor project progress with a focus on processes, in collaboration with the Heads of Design and Development
Your Profile:
- Scientific or technical degree or comparable training, preferably with experience in a similar product portfolio or technologies
- Several years of professional experience with management responsibility in new product development
- Knowledge of product development theories/models and their management
- Technical knowledge in the specified area, preferably in medical device development and its regulations
- Strong understanding of medical device development and relevant product knowledge
- Knowledge of quality management for medical devices (ISO 13485, Quality System Regulation 21 CFR 820, GMP for medical devices, and the Medical Devices Act (MPG))
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, reliability, leadership, and conflict management abilities
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills paired with innovation and a goal-oriented, proactive approach
- Entrepreneurial mindset, project management skills, and presentation abilities
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
