Job description

Mayvue is seeking a highly motivated Software Development Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable software for Mayvue’s customers.

You’ll set the technical direction, coach engineers, and drive outcomes through clear KPIs and data-driven decisions.

This position offers both in-office (Pittsburgh, PA) and the flexibility of being remote.  You tell us what works for you!

What you’ll do

Own results: Define and manage team KPIs (e.g., delivery predictability, cycle time, deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR, defect escape rate, uptime/SLAs, customer satisfaction) and use them to guide priorities and improvements.

Lead the team: Hire, coach, and develop engineers. Set goals, run effective 1:1s, and foster a culture of accountability, learning, and inclusion.

Ship with quality: Oversee planning, estimation, and execution; remove blockers; enforce engineering standards (code reviews, testing, CI/CD).

Provide technical leadership: Guide architecture and design decisions; review code; ensure maintainability, performance, and security.

Partner with stakeholders: Collaborate with Product, Customer Success, and Leadership to align roadmaps, communicate status and risks, and hit commitments.

Support go-to-market: Help launch new products/features, coordinate readiness, and close the loop with customers and support.

Roll up your sleeves: Pitch in on development, troubleshooting, and QA when needed.
