Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate UI/UX Designer & Software Analyst to join our dynamic product team, specializing in the design and development of educational software. The role requires a strong background in both user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design, coupled with analytical skills to ensure our software solutions meet user needs and adhere to best practices in design and usability. You will work closely with product owners, software development teams, and stakeholders to create engaging, intuitive, and accessible educational tools and platforms. 


Design and Prototyping:

  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for web and mobile applications. 
  • Create intuitive, responsive and visually appealing user interfaces that align with the company’s branding and user needs. 
  • Develop user personas, journey maps, and workflows to ensure a seamless user experience.  
  • Ensure designs are accessible and inclusive adhering to best practices and WCAG standards in education technology.  

User Research and Testing:

  • Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. 
  • Perform usability testing and gather feedback to iteratively improve designs. 
  • Analyze user feedback and activity to enhance the user experience continuously. 

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, software developers, and stakeholders to design user-centric educational software. 
  • Communicate design ideas and prototypes to product owners, developers and other stakeholders clearly and effectively. 

IT Integration:

  • Ensure that UI/UX designs are compatible with existing IT infrastructure, as well as software development standards and frameworks.  
  • Work with IT teams to understand technical requirements and constraints, ensuring designs are practical and implementable. 
  • Stay updated with the latest design trends and technologies to incorporate into the design process. 

Required Skills & Abilities:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  2. Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills. 
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  4. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and React relative to building responsive web applications  
  5. Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, or similar tools. 
  6. Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices. 
  7. Experience with user research and usability testing methodologies. 
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile development environment. 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of UI/UX design experience with focus on software development  
  • Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, preferably in the educational software sector. 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your UI/UX design skills and successful projects. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
