Job description

TELUS Health is empowering every person to live their healthiest life. Guided by our vision, we are leveraging the power of our leading edge technology and focusing on the uniqueness of each individual to create the future of health. As a global-leading health and well-being provider – encompassing physical, mental and financial health – TELUS Health is improving health outcomes for consumers, patients, healthcare professionals, employers and employees.

At TELUS Health, we believe in the power of human connection to improve health and wellbeing outcomes. Through our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and digital wellbeing solutions, we support organisations across Australia, New Zealand and Asia to build safer, more resilient, and more connected workplaces. Our services are designed to support people through life’s challenges – and our words are just as important as the services we deliver.

We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, and driven Bid Writer to help us win the hearts – and the contracts – of new and existing clients. You’ll be at the forefront of our business development and customer retention efforts, crafting compelling proposals that showcase the depth, care, and innovation behind our wellbeing and mental health services.

This is more than just a writing role. It’s a chance to shape the voice of our business, influence strategic growth, and help us deliver better outcomes for people across a range of sectors – from government and education, to mining, retail, healthcare, and more.

What You’ll Do

Write Winning Content

  • Develop high-quality, tailored responses to tenders, EOIs, and proposals that clearly communicate our value in a competitive market.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to distil technical and clinical information into persuasive, human-centred narratives.
  • Create supporting materials such as implementation plans, transition schedules, case studies, and service summaries.

Drive the Bid Process

  • Coordinate bid schedules and manage competing deadlines, ensuring timely, compliant, and high-quality submissions.
  • Maintain a library of reusable content, templates, and up-to-date service descriptions.
  • Continuously improve the quality and impact of our written materials by applying feedback, analytics, and client insights.

Support Strategic Growth

  • Align all writing with buyer values, industry needs, and sector-specific challenges, particularly within the health and wellbeing landscape.
  • Bring to life the outcomes we deliver – for individuals, workplaces, and communities – through evidence, storytelling, and creative positioning.
  • Contribute to post-submission debriefs and help refine our value propositions for future opportunities.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years’ experience in bid, proposal, or strategic writing roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to write persuasive, polished, and tailored content under deadline pressure.
  • Strong communication and project management skills – able to engage across functions and seniority levels.
  • Deep attention to detail with a passion for accuracy, quality, and clarity.
  • Comfort working independently and remotely, while staying highly connected to a supportive virtual team.

Great-to-haves

  • Background in journalism, communications, marketing, or public relations.
  • Familiarity with health, wellbeing, or human services sectors.
  • Experience in writing for government or enterprise clients, particularly within procurement or tender frameworks.
  • Proficiency with digital collaboration and content tools (e.g. SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat).
  • Understanding of plain language, accessibility, and inclusive writing principles.
  • Curious, thoughtful, and highly organised.
  • A natural storyteller with a flair for translating complexity into clarity.
  • Empathetic and client-focused, always thinking about what matters to the reader.
  • Energetic and proactive, with a ‘get-it-done’ mindset.
  • Passionate about mental health, wellbeing, and making a positive impact through your work.
