Job description

The Role

Covetrus is a global animal health organization providing a range of integrated products and services which drive improved clinical and financial outcomes for vets and pet owners. We have a long history of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in customer service to our vets and veterinary practice clients. We’re bringing together products, services, and technology into a single platform that connects our customers to the solutions and insights they need to work best. Our passion for the well-being of animals and those who care for them drives us to advance the world of veterinary medicine.

As we continue our SaaS journey, we are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our Technology Solutions team based at Eight Mile Plains (flexible working available). You will be able to take a set of acceptance criteria and translate this into a structured and effective testing schedule and will communicate effectively with developers, product teams, support teams, users and other stakeholders. You will work in a CI/CD environment and will be involved in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from reviewing and providing feedback on designs and Ux through to being a voice for the customer in the deployment stage. You will join an established, yet growing tech business that is using ‘best in class’ technologies and who are locally developing a product that we will take to global markets.

As QA Engineer, you will:

  • Review product specifications and requirements, Ux design prototypes and acceptance criteria to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well structured test plans and test cases.
  • Estimate, prioritise and conduct quality testing activities.
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts.
  • Identify, record and document bugs as well as review incoming bugs identified by users and other stakeholders.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Develop and apply testing process for new and existing products to meet customer and product needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
  • Provide feedback and assistance from a quality and usability perspective to other members of the product & development team.
  • Work as part of the agile, scrum process to achieve team sprint goals.

About You

To be successful you will have;

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology combined with demonstrated two years experience in software development and software quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Hands on experience with automated testing tools.
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum development process.
  • Experience working on enterprise SaaS applications.
  • Enthusiastic attitude to get involved and share the team goals.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with colleagues but also be a self starter.
  • Keen to be included in full SDLC, including reviewing & giving feedback at the Design, Story Writing, development and deployment stages as well as during QA.
