EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school and two years' experience in HIM/Medical records, data entry or customer service; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate's degree preferred. Data entry experience and experience with healthcare information systems preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, database application, spreadsheet, word processing experience preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: RHIT preferred.

Willing to attend training to keep pace with changing work environment
Ability to work with keen concentration
Flexibility with changing procedures and able to deal with inconsistencies within software applications
Ability to examine the medical record and verify patient identity under atypical circumstances
Ability to organize work priorities and meet specific objectives under time constraints
