SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

The Sales Manager (SM) is directly responsible for all Betaseed and ACH Seeds sugarbeet sales and marketing activities including managing a network of Independent Sales Agents within the growing areas of Montana and Wyoming in the Western Sugar North and Wyoming Sugar Sugarbeet production areas. The Sales Manager reports to this position in Montana / Wyoming. This role is full-time and permanent.  

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead, support, and manage the activities of the Independent Sales Agent network to achieve annual sales goals throughout the Western Sugar North and Wyoming Sugar markets in the promotion of Betaseed and ACH Seeds sugarbeet hybrids.

  • Foster relationships with the respective Agricultural Staff of each sugar cooperative/company in an effort to maximize sales of Betaseed and ACH Seeds products and build brand loyalty.

  • Develop marketing strategies to increase market share and enhance brand presence, such as: farm visits, plot tours, grower meetings, industry functions, and customer service.

  • Understand customer needs and provide feedback to the organization on product performance, effectiveness, and competitive activity.

  • Develop a healthy, respectful working relationship with the cooperatives and sugar companies served, as well as growers and personnel of allied industry agencies.

  • Manage sales and marketing activities including, grower service, seed allocations, inventory management, territory management, and testing or trial organization outside of the official trials.  

  • Prepare and communicate timely and accurate reports that include market plans, sales forecasts, hybrid performance data, expense budgeting, credit and collections.

  • Other duties as needed by the business.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy, agriculture, business, biology, or a related field

  • Knowledge of the sugar beet industry that includes seed and crop production, as well as allied support industries in crop protection, farm equipment, and research.

  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience in the seed or agricultural industry

  • Demonstrated ability to increase market share while maintaining high levels of customer service

  • Strong interpersonal communication, presentation and meeting facilitation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Results-oriented approach to meeting annual sales goals

  • Ability to travel frequently  

  • Proficient Computer skills in Microsoft Office Products

  • Ability to pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check

 

OFFER:

  • A salary up to $130 000. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made
