Job description

Emerging Tech is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead and coordinate the NYC Department of Education’s Strategic IT Governance Operations Support Program. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact with DOE, managing the full project lifecycle and ensuring successful delivery of strategic IT governance initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a proactive approach, strong organizational capabilities, and demonstrated experience leading enterprise IT projects within complex public sector or institutional environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead comprehensive project planning, including timeline management, resource coordination, and risk mitigation strategies.
Oversee the vendor project team and ensure appropriate resource allocation across tasks and deliverables.
Manage cross-functional collaboration and maintain consistent, clear communication with DOE stakeholders.
Coordinate and facilitate weekly project status meetings with internal and DOE stakeholders.
Serve as the primary escalation point for any project-related issues or risks, ensuring timely resolution and transparency.
Ensure on-time submission of all project deliverables, including reports, documentation, and change requests.
Submit the following in accordance with DOE requirements:
- Weekly status reports
- Monthly roll-up reports summarizing work completed, hours billed, inventory, and task-level billing
- Meeting agendas and documented minutes
Maintain centralized, up-to-date documentation aligned with governance and compliance standards.
Support strategic planning and quality assurance efforts to meet contract and stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications

Availability Requirements

Must be reachable during NYC DOE business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, Monday–Friday)
Must be available for emergency communication during off-hours, as needed.
