GENERAL DESCRIPTION (Summary, Scope, Purpose)

The primary function of this position is to manage all renewal insurance policies in accordance with underwriting guidelines. In addition, this position will be responsible for managing policy issuance and delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the underwriting and timely processing of all policy renewals.

  • Responsible for processing endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.

  • Responsible for assisting with Rate Pages and Comparison documents used to present renewal offers.

  • Monitor loss-ratios and recommend rate, deductible, and coverage changes as well as policy cancellation where loss-ratio is unsatisfactory or there is a substantial change in underlying risk.

  • Assure that underwriting files are kept current and accurate.

  • Manage policy issuance and delivery.

  • Other responsibilities as directed.

  • Attends industry-related continuing education training and courses.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • High attention to detail is required

  • Analyze information effectively

  • Skills testing may be required

  • Experience working with community bank bond / D&O / property and casualty insurance programs is preferred

  • Above-average telephone techniques and the ability to communicate effectively with prospective and existing clients, as well as other staff members

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Ability and willingness to utilize the company’s computer system and software

  • Ability to understand policy forms and coverage descriptions

  • Organizational skills required

  • Willingness to attend educational classes is desired
