Key responsibilities:

  • Participate in weekly online discussions and evaluate student coursework.
  • Assist in curriculum development and create introductory videos for weekly topics.
  • Maintain records of student progress and ensure smooth course operations.

Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 7-10 years of Executive, Senior Level Management/Leadership Experience required

  • Must have practical business industry experience related to quantitative courses preferred

  • Experience with Canvas preferred

  • A deep understanding and appreciation for Jack's management philosophy

  • The ability to both coach and instruct adult learners in an online environment

  • Experience with the adoption of new technology and tools

  • The ability to do occasional Synchronous work with students

  • Commitment to student success

  • Must be able to teach any of the quant courses when needed

  • Experience teaching at the graduate level – online preferred

  • Mastery in presentation skills, planning and organizing of course objective

Essential Duties:

  • Actively participate in weekly online discussions

  • Evaluate and provide feedback on student coursework

  • Assist with development and refinement of curriculum

  • Create short videos  to introduce new topics each week Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Maintain adequate records of student progress

  • Maintain smooth course operation and adherence to policies and procedures

Education Requirements:

All degrees must​ be conferred and from an accredited institution to be considered.

  • Doctoral degree in Finance, Economics, or related field, or working towards your doctoral degree (ABD) is preferred

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field required

  • Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable) CPA or CMA a plus

  • Must be able to travel weekly to required location(s).

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

  • Typical office setting.

  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.

  • Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.

  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.

  • Access information using a computer.

  • Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.

  • Effectively cope with stressful situations.

  • Strong mental acuity.

  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.

  • Other essential functions and marginal job functions are subject to modification.

$1000 is the expected starting pay for training for this position this quarter. Current and future assignments are based on the additional factors outlined below.

Strayer University Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on the number and type of course(s) that are taught in a given quarter. Currently, compensation for courses ranges from $2,300 - $3,100.
