DESCRIPTION:

This position can be located in our San Antonio office or working remotely from home and provides supplement claims service to customers using multiple communication channels. The Supplement Adjuster works within a team, using the latest technology to manage an assigned caseload of routine to moderately complex claims from the investigation of the claim through resolution. This includes making decisions about liability/compensability, evaluating losses, and negotiating settlements. The role interacts with claimants, policyholders, appraisers, attorneys, contractors and other third parties throughout the claim’s management process.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adjusts moderately complex to highly complex property claims. These claims include structure damage involving high dollar value and severity.
  • Assesses actual damages associated with claims and conducts negotiations, within assigned authority limits, to settle claims.
  • Handles customer escalations, DOI complaints and claims with public adjuster or attorney representation.
  • Contributes to business goals, performance metrics, and effectively uses tools & technology.
  • Supports workload surges and/or catastrophe operations as needed to include working significant overtime during designated catastrophe events.
  • Applies advanced knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance industry products, services, and processes to include P&C insurance policy contracts and coverage's and how they affect the status of the claim.
  • Serves as a resource to less experienced team members on escalated issues of a complex nature.
  • Partners with internal resources to facilitate claims resolution.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 12+ months handling complex property claims.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be a team-oriented individual to work with clients, other team members, and internal partners.
  • Availability to work shift in the San Antonio, hybrid, or remote during core hours up to M-F 7am-7pm, Sat 8am-5pm, including after hours and at the weekend as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current home state adjuster license.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and easily acclimates to changes in process/systems for overall improvement of the organization.
  • Ability to learn new technologies.
  • Known to drive results through others.
  • Proficient in Mobile Claims, Claims Connect, Navigator, and Lumen
  • Strong Supplement knowledge

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience resolving complex coverage issues.
  • Experience identifying and refining operational processes to drive operational efficiency.
  • Multi state claim licenses
  • All peril claims handling experience
