We are looking for a senior Software Engineer who will support our cross-functional team with regards to PC-based control software development through automation projects, from conceptualization, to design, build, install and final commissioning.

You will be challenged to make the customer’s dream of their new laboratory come true. You will be in close contact with the end customer, and will implement the final solution more with them, than only for them. Challenges lie in speed optimization, robustness and usability. The very supportive team around you has a lot of creativity going on which is used to overcome the mentioned challenges. This is a job that is never boring, and you are constantly learning.
Travelling to the customers for meetings and installations comes with the territory, of course.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Working in the PAS (Process and Automation Solutions) department, the position encompasses managing the software control aspects of automation and special machine projects for both external and internal customers.
Normally these are automated laboratory setups for industrial laboratories. During the conceptualization, construction and delivery of projects, the person we are looking for is designing, coding, testing, debugging, coaching and commissioning the software control aspects of the project using a hands-on approach and as part of the wider project team. Typical work items comprise designing, coding, reviewing, debugging and commissioning automation control software and taking into production of the projects. Installation after FAT at the customer is part of the job. Customer support after installation (mostly online per VPN) is also part of the activities.

EDUCATION
Computer science (BSc), and experience with technical automation, or equivalent.

  • Languages: Microsoft C and C++ is a must, C# combined with WPF optional
  • Experience with Software principles like Clean Code and SOLID
  • Self starting
