Job description

The Opportunity | Field Technician, Staff

Location: Remote (As needed visits to Middleburg Heights, OH and other CW or customer facilities)

Type: Full-time, Regular position

Under general supervision, assists in the maintenance of site/field equipment and/or the installation, rearrangement and removal of equipment at the customer site or at the company location. This job may include any aspect of product field support, including system hardware and software.

Your Challenge:

  • Review and incorporate all applicable history, drawings, EC’s/DCN’s, vendor manuals, procedures, etc. for scope of work

  • Generate, update, and install SealPRO Valve Packing Datasheets as needed and specified in the valve scope. Datasheets shall have the recommended configuration, correct packing materials, and design.

  • Perform design calculations for packing torque/stress, live-loading, packing configuration, and packing friction

  • Survey valves/components and OEM gaskets, pressure seals, packing sets, etc. for proper fit and information to provide replacement items if possible

  • Provide field technical assistance to craft personnel performing the work, including verification of proper packing installation and complete packing consolidation

  • Train maintenance repack crews as required

  • Coordinate with planning, site purchasing, materials group, and AP Services to expedite delivery of required or needed materials

  • Work with onsite diagnostic testing group (ie: Crane, Teledyne, Fisher, etc) during testing to ensure proper packing running loads are achieved

Your Expertise:

  • 1-3 years of related experience

  • Associates Degree (Engineering, Business Administration)

  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems with engineered products

  • Capable of reading engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and following test instructions

  • Ability to effectively communicate with others

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
