LOCATION AND WORK HOURS
The Head of Credit in the Philippines will report to the Senior Managing Director, Finance. This position will work remotely from the Philippines the during standard US Pacific Time business hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Credit Policy & Strategy
Develop, implement, and maintain credit risk policies and procedures tailored to real estate transactions, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties.
Align credit strategies with the company’s investment and development goals.
Credit Evaluation & Approval
Lead the assessment of borrower creditworthiness, including individuals, developers, and institutional clients.
Approve or escalate credit decisions based on risk thresholds and financial analysis.
Portfolio Risk Management
Monitor the performance of the credit portfolio, identify emerging risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure proper risk grading and timely reporting of potential problem loans.
Team Leadership
Manage and mentor a team of credit analysts and underwriters.
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with legal, finance, and property management teams to ensure smooth deal execution and risk alignment.
Support due diligence efforts for acquisitions and new developments.
Reporting & Analytics
Provide regular reports to executive leadership on credit performance, risk exposure, and key metrics.
Leverage data analytics to enhance credit decision-making and forecasting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
Graduated cum laude or better from university is preferred.
8–10+ years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in real estate or top financial institutions.
Strong knowledge of U.S. lending regulations and real estate market dynamics.
Proficiency in credit scoring models, financial analysis, and risk assessment tools.
Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Solid organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
Excellent command of the English language.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must possess strong work ethic.
