Nature and Scope

The Tax Content Editor will act as a subject matter expert (SME) and take ownership of the editorial process for their assigned courses, from concept development through publication. The role involves reviewing and editing content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the most current tax and accounting guidance. Responsibilities include researching technical topics, revising or removing outdated material, and integrating new guidance into course materials. In addition to staying abreast of developments in the field, the content editor will identify innovative approaches to implementing editorial and content methodologies in a technology-driven environment. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with SMEs to develop and update technical tax content.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and implement changes across the content library.
  • Address customer content-related inquiries.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Review, revise, and update existing tax course content to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with current guidance.
  • Conduct independent research to identify relevant updates from authoritative sources.
  • Partner with the content manager and SMEs to ensure relevance, quality, and clarity across multiple content formats.
  • Recommend improvements or additions to existing courses. 
  • Perform product testing and quality control prior to publication. 
  • Work efficiently to meet editorial deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Collaborate effectively within an agile development environment.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office 365.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a tax preparation.
  • Strong ability to interpret, edit, and develop tax-related instructional materials. 
  • Exceptional written communication skills with a focus on clarity and learner comprehension. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, JD, or EA.
  • Familiar with tax research products.
