YOUR ROLE  

As Chief Media Investment Officer at Crossmedia, you will lead the agency’s media investment practice with vision, precision, and a deep understanding of the evolving media landscape. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee the full investment lifecycle — from innovation and development to execution and performance evaluation — ensuring every dollar invested delivers maximum impact for our clients. 

You are a skilled negotiator and strategic thinker with a proven ability to navigate the complexities of media deal-making. With a deep expertise in media planning and buying, you know how to create value through smart partnerships, well-structured deals, and a strong command of market dynamics. 

You’ll guide a team of investment professionals and collaborate across disciplines to drive business outcomes. Your remit spans all channels— from Search to Super Bowl Specialist teams of biddable, buying and Integrated Investment report to you (4 direct reports, team of 120+). You foster an approach with integration, accountability, and innovation

YOUR OBJECTIVES 

 Media Investment  

  • Oversee cross-platform media buying strategy, driving optimal performance across Video/CTV, Local TV/Audio, OOH/Print, Display, Native, Social, Search, and Programmatic.  This Is handled by 3 specialist teams reporting directly to you.
  • Develop and implement cutting-edge buying approaches that deliver measurable value for clients while enhancing the agency’s competitive advantage in an evolving media landscape
  • Build and maintain high-level partnerships with media vendors, platforms, and technology providers, negotiating high-impact deals that benefit the agency and its clients. Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to client service by proactively anticipating needs, addressing challenges, and delivering measurable value
  • Serve as a visionary leader and trusted advisor, guiding internal teams and senior clients on market dynamics, deal structures, pricing models, and platform innovations.
  • Evolve procurement buying to achieve rates and savings in a way that does not compromise the decisioning on media. Neutrality, transparency, and opted in by clients. 
  • Innovate and create integrated consumer experiences across all media channels, including traditional, digital, and emerging platforms.
  • Analyze data to develop audience-based insights for effective go to market buying  
  • Embrace technology and drive operational efficiency via process audits and automation solutions.  

Product Development & Innovation: 

  • Oversee the development and optimization of new product offerings in both traditional and retail media channels, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and aligned with client needs.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and media platforms to continually enhance and evolve our product offerings.  
  • Work closely with clients to understand their business objectives, target audiences, and key performance indicators to enhance customized solutions. 

 Leadership & Team Development: 

  • Provide thought leadership, ensuring that Crossmedia stays at the forefront of innovation and customer trends.
  • Maintain transparency in decision-making and foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with Executive Client Directors (ECDs) to align with client teams’ goals, challenges, and objectives.
  • Drive business performance, focusing on metrics such as revenue growth, new business wins, and client retention.
  • Inspire, lead, and grow a high-performing investment team, fostering a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement within a mid-sized, entrepreneurial agency environment.
  • Leading and motivating teams with a positive presence and thoughtful, humble approach  
  • Disrupt norms - stay curious and bringing new ideas to ways of working  

 REQUIREMENTS 

  • A strategic thinker with 20+ years of cross-channel media investment experience, blending deep knowledge of planning and buying across digital, linear, programmatic, and emerging platforms.
  • Champion a client-first mindset by proactively anticipating needs, solving challenges, and consistently delivering strategic, results-oriented solution
  • A trusted networker who has deeply rooted vendors relationships.
  • Expert in media pricing, modeling, and ROI measurement, with financial and data fluency to guide investment strategy.
  • Deep understanding of current market trends and the ability to turn insights into bold, actionable strategies.
  • Passionate about innovation and experimentation, with a track record of pushing media boundaries and productizing new solutions.
  • Skilled in defining best practices, standards, and scalable processes that drive performance and consistency.
  • Mastery of the latest tools, technologies, and analytics platforms used to execute and evaluate modern media investment strategies.
  • Highly creative: the ability to think outside the box to find new ways to generate outcomes
  • Connected to the industry through councils, speaking engagements, and press, serving as a respected thought leader and representative of the agency.
  • Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and inspiring teams with a humble, thoughtful, and motivating presence.
  • Highly collaborative and entrepreneurial, comfortable rolling up sleeves and working across teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; able to clearly frame a business narrative from context to strategy to execution.
  • Expert listener and problem-solver with emotional intelligence and the ability to influence clients, peers, and partners with confidence and clarity.
  • Fearless, bold, and provocative—yet always customer-obsessed and grounded in outcomes

Salary range $325k - $350k.  Compensation is determined on the skills, qualifications and tenure of the applicant.  This role requires proximity to our NY office, offering a hybrid work setting.
