Job description

iMedX, a Rapid Care USA company, has openings for full-time Clinical Data Abstract Specialist.. 

Purpose

The Coding Support Data Specialist is responsible for accurately transferring clinical and coding summary data into CRA and TruCode, supporting daily queue, and assisting with new hire onboarding with a new hire for the coding division.  This position plays a vital role in ensuring timely scanning, chart tracking, and support ticket follow-up, contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the RCM team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Abstract daily volumes of clinical information into CRA and TruCode at a minimum 97% accuracy rate.
  2. Monitor and respond to coding support requests within 2 hours (normal) or 1 hour (high priority).
  3. Transfer medical codes from EHR into proprietary systems.
  4. Scan charts into proprietary systems (including list scanning), meeting the productivity standard of 2 charts per minute.
  5. Prepare accounts for Rapid Care CCQM reviews upon request.
  6. Review incomplete charts and follow up with team member and RCM Director to resolve data gaps.
  7.   Support new hire setup.
  8. Maintain accurate documentation and productivity standards for scan duties.
  9. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and safeguards the privacy of protected health information (PHI).
  11. Promotes the Company’s values.

Education:   High school diploma or GED equivalent.  

Qualifications:   Excellent verbal and written communications skills, demonstrates ability to work independently and meet time-sensitive deadlines, having a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.  Basic knowledge of healthcare data and EHR systems, with a preference of CRA, TruCode, or Themis

Experience:   Prior experience in healthcare data entry, coding support, or revenue cycle operations.  Familiarity with EMR systems including Epic, Meditech, Cerner, etc.  Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance.

Physical Work Environment:  The work environment is a home-based position that involves long periods of sitting with repetitive motions of hand and arm and may include frequent bending and twisting.  Must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 pounds.
