JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Survey Research Center (SRC) at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking self-motivated, reliable people as part-time phone interviewers. From August to October of 2025, we will be actively hiring for a state-wide research project about Pennsylvanians’ engagement in online gambling.
Interviewers will be asked to use a computer to administer carefully developed research questionnaires via telephone to respondents (people) in Pennsylvania from all walks of life.
Staff members are requested to work at least 8-10 hours a week and can work up to 20 hours a week.
The project is anticipated to run from September 2025 to April 2026.
Calls are made daily during data collection from 10 am to 9 pm, and typical shifts are 3 hours long.
Daytime and evening hours are available on weekdays, and at least one weekend shift is typically required.
Depending on location and qualifications, candidates can be hired to work in person or remotely.
Candidates must have reliable transportation if they work in-person or reliable internet and access to a computer if they work remotely.
Positions are available immediately. No prior experience in a call center or research is necessary.
Successful candidates will receive paid training sessions developed by experienced managers to help them become a competent and effective interviewer.
