  Position Summary

  We’re looking for a Sr. Software Engineer (Fullstack) to join our growing Engineering team. This role will report directly to Engineering leadership and collaborate crossfunctionally with stakeholders across Product, Design and Engineering.

  You’ll help us build, scale, and maintain web applications that power the Virtuous platform. You should feel comfortable working across the full stack—from crafting intuitive UIs to designing robust backend services—and have a strong track record of shipping productionready code.

  Our current tech stack includes PythonDjango on the backend and React on the frontend, but we’re also evaluating other tools and frameworks to support our growing platform needs. A willingness to explore new technologies and offer thoughtful input into technical decisions is important to us.

  Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications used by nonprofit organizations around the world

  • Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams to understand user needs and translate them into technical solutions

  • Write clean, testable, and efficient code across the frontend and backend

  • Contribute to architectural discussions and help drive technical decisionmaking across the platform

  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior team members, and help foster a culture of learning and improvement

  • Deploy applications and support production systems with a focus on reliability, observability, and performance

  • Provide thoughtful feedback on technology choices as we evaluate changes across our stack

  • Support a culture of experimentation, iteration, and continuous delivery

  • Requirements

    • 6+ years of experience building modern web applications

    • Proficiency in Python and frameworks like Django (or similar)

    • Experience with JavaScriptTypeScript and frontend frameworks such as React or Vue

    • Solid understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL

    • Experience integrating with RESTful andor GraphQL APIs

    • Familiarity with basic DevOps practices (e.g., CICD, infrastructure monitoring, scaling applications)

    • A love for building quality products that delight users and solve real problems

    • Strong communication skills and a teamfirst mindset

    • Openness to leveraging AI tools for productivity, experimentation, and better engineering outcomes

    • Nice to Haves

      • Experience working in a SaaS or B2B product company

      • Familiarity with C# .NET

      • Prior experience in the nonprofit tech space

      • Contributions to opensource projects or relevant technical blogs

      • Excitement about helping teams grow and mature their engineering practices
