About Sparkfund

Sparkfund is the deployment services company utilities rely on to take DERs from grid edge to grid core.

With over a decade of experience as a utility services company, Sparkfund has pioneered a smarter approach to deploying distributed assets as part of a fast-growing grid. Through its Distributed Capacity Procurement (DCP) model, Sparkfund enables utilities to plan, deploy, and dispatch DERs at the scale and pace necessary to meet load growth demand and unlock the full value of the grid. We support program design, assessment of DER grid value, host engagement, and value chain management to ensure on-time, on-budget deployment of distributed resources with maximum grid value and lowest cost.

With more than 3,500 projects deployed across 43 states and more than 300MW of energized assets constructed, Sparkfund is transforming buildings into a valuable extension of the grid for the benefit of our society.

Job Title: Program Manager

Spark Community Investment Company, dba SparkFund, is a leading energy transition partner offering program management, project implementation, and financing services for utilities and building owners. Addressing challenges like retiring fossil generators and rising electricity demand, SparkFund transforms buildings into extensions of the electric grid, advancing a more equitable and sustainable energy future. By guiding building owners through planning, technology selection, and execution, Sparkfund enables decarbonization and electrification while fostering collaboration among utilities, vendors, and contractors to drive impactful progress in the energy sector. At Spark Fund, our commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in the energy sector is at the core of everything we do. As our company continues to grow, we require the professional services of a Program Manager to play a pivotal role in overseeing and planning various projects, ensuring seamless coordination and execution. The Program Manager will manage our project timelines and resources to ensure smooth project execution while ensuring adherence to quality standards and client requirements. • Manage all project documentation, including contracts, permits, orders, project reports, and more.
• Prepare project schedules, coordinate tasks, and manage deadlines to ensure timely completion.
• Effectively manage labor by assigning duties and responsibilities to project personnel, as well as managing materials acquisition and equipment allocation to optimize project efficiency and productivity.

Maintenance of Project Documents (20%)
• Review and update project issues log on a weekly basis to ensure progress and any necessary modifications are accurately reflected.
• Ensure necessary permit requests and liability insurance policies are submitted and properly recorded to ensure each project’s compliance with the relevant regulations and to avoid any unnecessary delay to the project schedule.

Project Management Optimization (15%)
• Identify opportunities to improve our company’s processes, implementing innovative strategies and best practices for enhanced performance.
• Provide management with post-project evaluations to identify successes, challenges, and areas for improvement for future projects.

Minimum Requirements:
• Master’s degree in project management or a related field.
• 2 years’ work experience analyzing clients’ energy-usage data and requirements to develop project solutions including timeline and budget constraints.
