Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Skytap VM Engineer to join our team and support the design, deployment, and optimization of virtual training environments for a leading global client. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, handson technical execution, and proactive issue resolution in a dynamic trainingfocused environment.

Key Responsibilities

VM Deployment & Environment Management

• Deploy, configure, and manage Skytap VMs across Linux and Windows platforms.
  
• Build and maintain complex, multitier training environments.
  
• Ensure timely provisioning of accurate lab environments for training sessions.
  

• Collaboration & Client Engagement
  

  • Work closely with trainers, subject matter experts, and client stakeholders to define environment requirements.
    
  • Participate in client meetings to provide technical input and recommendations.
    
  • Serve as the technical point of contact, ensuring alignment between infrastructure and training goals.
    

  • Monitoring & Cost Optimization
    

    • Monitor Skytap platform performance using programmatic tools and best practices.
      
    • Analyze usage trends and implement costeffective solutions.
      
    • Optimize performance and reliability while managing cloud infrastructure costs.
      

    • Technical Support
      

      • Provide firstlevel technical support for training participants, addressing VM issues promptly.
        
      • Troubleshoot infrastructurerelated issues across both Linux and Windows environments.
        
      • Assist internal teams in the setup and scaling of training labs.
        

      • Documentation & Continuous Improvement
        

        • Develop and maintain technical documentation, guides, and support materials.
          
        • Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline processes.
          
        • Drive continuous improvements in VM deployment and support workflows.
          

        • Required Qualifications
          

          Education
          

          • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
            

          • Experience
            

            • Mandatory: Handson experience with Skytap – including VM deployment, administration, and troubleshooting.
              
            • Strong Linux system administration background.
              
            • 5+ years of relevant experience in virtualization and technical support.
              
            • Proven experience interfacing with clients and stakeholders on technical matters.
              

            • Technical Skills
              

              • Proficient in scripting languages (Python preferred) and working with APIs.
                
              • Familiarity with containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
                
              • Experience with CICD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
                
              • Handson experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
                
              • Strong understanding of Windows and Linux systems, including system architecture and security.
