About the role

Global Partners Digital is recruiting an Operations Officer to support the smooth daytoday running of our organisation and projects, including the Freedom Online Coalition Support Unit. The role spans a range of responsibilities from event and travel logistics to external communications and wider operational support.

We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders—including government representatives and diplomats—and who has experience delivering logistics for events and international travel.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively in a remote team, has excellent attention to detail, and takes ownership of tasks through to completion.

Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Provide streamlined operations and logistics support to the GPD team and its projects (in particular, the Freedom Online Coalition Support Unit);
  • Support event logistics, both online and occasionally inperson, including organising calls, invitations, venue and catering, translation, agendas, minutes;
  • Support external communications, including inbox management, contacts and mailing lists, social media posts, website management, media monitoring, drafting comms content and outputs;
  • Support with travel arrangements for the GPD team and external partners, including transport and accommodation bookings, travel surveys, risk assessments, logistics notes;
  • Assist with other relevant company and project admin, including minuting and reporting, finance admin, and data management;
      • Research and monitoring support as needed;
      • Represent GPD in relevant external settings in a supportive capacity, which may include travel on occasion;
      • Help to foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative culture at GPD.

          Education Qualifications

          • An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
            • Experience and Knowledge

              • A minimum of two years of experience supporting in a comparable role;
              • Experience in working with a range of stakeholders, including governments, civil society, the tech industry, funders, and suppliers;
              • Experience in diplomacy or working in or with governments;
              • Experience in developing and maintaining operational systems and processing data (desirable);
              • Knowledge of human rights andor digital policy issues and relevant policy processes and forums (desirable);
              • Experience in project management or assisting with grants and projects, including funder reporting and managing budgets (desirable).

                  • Ability to work independently, efficiently prioritising tasks, managing deadlines, and maintaining high organisational standards with meticulous attention to detail;
                  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, key stakeholders, using interpersonal and collaborative skills;
                  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately;
                  • Willingness to travel for work and flexibility to travel internationally;
                  • Proficient in the use of business tools, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Slack, and experience in creating and maintaining spreadsheets;
                  • Demonstrated expertise in communication, analytical, and numerical skills;
                  • Evidenced proficiency in both written and spoken English;
                  • Proficient in the use of accounting tools e.g. Xero (desirable);
                  • Project management experience (desirable);
                  • Proficiency in a second language (desirable);
                  • Passion for human rights, digital policy, and international relations (desirable).

                      Working days: Full time* (32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday)

                      Start date: ASAP

                      Band: 1 (Officer)

                      Salary: £30,000£40,000 pa based on experience

                      Contract: 12month fixedterm contract, initially

                      Location: Right to live and work in the UK, but considering international applications within 35 hours time difference of the UK.
