    • About the Role

      The Customer Quality Engineer for GM products is responsible for ensuring that production processes and finished products meet customer requirements and internal quality standards, as well as compliance with automotive industry regulations (IATF 16949). This role involves active participation in problemsolving, continuous improvement, customer complaint handling, and new product launches.

      What You Will Do

      • Responsible for Quality, Delivery performance and execution of continuous improvement plans.
      • Responsible for conducting GM portal training on key modules (i.e., SPPS, SPM, PRTS+) to internal HARMAN organization to ensure customer requirements are met.
      • Responsible for customer requirements and execution for Current Production (process design changes) customer approvals.
      • Responsible for directing Resident Engineers at GM assembly sites for 0km activities.
      • Support urgent care for 0km concerns at GM sites – includes executing containment plan.
      • Responsible for managing 0km concerns (SPPS) and leading problemsolving reviews (8D) with HARMAN functions to ensure containment and corrective actions are driven to closure.
      • Decide if stopping production line or product shipment is needed when immediate course correction is required.
      • Direct Harman and contracted resources necessary for field containment activities, such as assembly plant yardhold management, which result from product issues already installed into vehicles.
      • Liaison between Resident Engineers and Harman Mfg. sites.
      • Support on communication of customer specific bulletins and expectations to Harman organization.
      • Support during Team 1 and Mgate review meetings.
      • Support during First Article Inspection approvals.
      • Create POs for quality services and track invoices in procurement system (Ariba).
      • Follow up QMS (PSP04) compliance with the Harman mfg. sites.
      • Support IATF audits at manufacturing sites.
      • Support Customer visitsaudits to Harman manufacturing sites.
      • Support Customer Quality reviews (internal and external), including escalations.
      • Participate in RFMEA workshops for current production projects.
        • What You Need to Be Successful

          • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Mechanical, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
          • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role within the automotive industry.
          • Strong knowledge of Core Quality Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC.
          • Experience with IATF 16949 standard.
          • Experience with GM Specific Requirements.
          • Experience using GM Supply Power portal.
          • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
          • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
          • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
          • Excellent communication skills with internal teams and customers.
          • Resultsdriven and proactive mindset.
          • Team player with leadership potential.
