This course provides an indepth exploration of the integrated relationship between human life and the surrounding environment, beginning with a study of the fundamental concepts and principles of ecology. Topics that are interwoven throughout the course include principles of ecology, as seen in the structure and function of the ecosystem; pollution of air, soil, and water resources; population explosion and the relationship of people, disease, and food production; and environmental controls necessary for survival.

Responsibilities:
CompetencyBased Education (CBE) allows students to master content and skills within a course or program at their own pace and prioritizes the demonstration of student learning over time.
Students are able to show what they know when they know it. CBE courses are broken into multiple modules that are selfpaced. Each module has an assessment at the end of it that allows students to demonstrate their mastery of the material.
CBE Assessment Adjunct Faculty members focus on grading the work coming in from students. They are assigned a set number of students that are theirs and all submissions from those students are graded by their assessment faculty member.
Grading is facilitated through the use of detailed rubrics and feedback. Very little direct communication is had with students and more attention is put on the grading itself. This allows for an unbiased grading process and a faculty member with an expert understanding of the course project and its requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
The essential function of the position include, but are not limited to the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities consistent with the function. The employee is expected to perform all other duties as requested, directed, andor assigned. Adjunct faculty will be assigned up to 3 work units per academic quarter.

Our defined compensation structure is market competitive and is built to reward performance. Our Online PartTime (Adjunct) Instructor compensation is determined based on the workload (Work Unit) associated with the specific course assignment. Those selected for these roles can expect a reasonable estimate of the current pay to be $1,700.00 per fullterm Work Unit. We take a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including but not limited to: job and level hired into, location, skill set; experience and training; peer compensation and other business and organizational needs. This range is subject to change.
