Job Description
As a Virtual Medical Assistant, you’ll serve as the digital front door to a thriving medical practice, combining healthcare expertise with virtual administration. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilize modern healthcare technology while making a meaningful impact on patient care. You’ll work remotely while maintaining direct connection with patients and supporting critical healthcare operations.
Major ResponsibilitiesTasks:
Answer phone calls
Call patients to schedule or reschedule appointments
Audit patient payment histories in EHR (patient and insurance)
Complete prior authorizations as required for medications prescribed to patients
Schedule patient appointments and procedures according to established protocols
Obtain accurate information from patients and other physician offices and ensure registration forms are complete
Verify insurance coverage. Experience with Pear & Availity is helpful
Maintain patient and medical practice confidentiality
Perform other related duties as directed or assigned
Requirements
Previous experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant working for a USbased medical practice
Medical degree andor training required (Nurse or similar)
InsuranceMedical Coding experience preferred
Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems required; experience with AdvancedMD preferred
