Job Description

  • Using your strong data analysis & commercial experience, you’ll equip our teams with optimal insights that informs actions
    • As a Trade Reporting & Data Analyst you’ll drive dataled decisions by providing accurate, timely reports and insights to support pricing, promotions, and supplier COGS management.
      This role involves developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, datasets, and tools to track trading metrics.

      You’ll collaborate closely with Category, Customer Value, Finance, and Data teams, ensuring fitforpurpose reporting that supports core merchandise processes.

      By driving data quality, process improvement, and clear communication, you will ensure the Merchandise function is equipped with the insights needed to optimise value, manage risk, and deliver profitable growth.

      Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

      • Standardise and streamline reporting across categories and banners for consistency and strategic alignment, supporting merchandise transformation.
      • Identify and implement reporting improvements to drive efficiency and enhance data integrity.
      • Support supplier cost change administration, ensuring accurate and timely bulk updates for informed commercial decisions (e.g., CPI process).
      • Contribute to supplier value creation by embedding performance tracking frameworks aligned with Joint Business Plans (JBP).
      • Develop, maintain, and govern standard reporting tools and dashboards for pricing, supplier cost movements, promotions, and trading KPIs.
      • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across all merchandise reporting, collaborating with the data team on quality issues.
      • Automate manual reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
      • Maintain documentation of reporting logic, data definitions, and source systems for transparency and control.
      • Provide structured insights and commentary for planning, ranging reviews, and supplier negotiations.
      • Act as a central contact for merchandise reporting standards, guiding category teams on best practices and data usage.
      • Partner with DA&I and Finance teams for consistent data sources and definitions.
      • Support effective training across merchandise teams for consistent understanding and adoption of reporting tools.
      • Share insights and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure actionable reporting outputs aligned with business needs.
      • Promote continuous improvement by gathering feedback on reporting utility and identifying enhancements.
        • Qualifications

          • Degree qualified in commerce, accounting, economics, finance.
          • Strong data analysis and modelling skills to analyse and summarise high volumes of data from a variety of sources.
          • Strong presentation and communication skills; able to make the complex simple.
          • Able to ensure the approach and output is simple, structured, accurate and robust.
          • Able to synthesise large amounts of data from a variety of sources.
          • Able to communicate complex financial information to a broad audience, able to make the complex simple.
          • Prioritise team efforts to support business requirements.
          • Strong experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. google suite, excel.
