Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field., Completion of 2-4 actuarial exams., 3-5 years of experience in an actuarial role., Pursuing or holding an actuarial designation such as CAS, SOA, CIA, or IFoA..

Key responsibilities:

  • Respond to internal, external, and ad hoc requests for business units or product lines.
  • Analyze, update, and summarize actuarial memoranda and reports.
  • Reconcile and ensure accuracy of data from various source systems.
  • Assist with data collection, reporting, and responding to inquiries from regulatory and internal departments.

Job description

Overview of Position

The Actuarial Associate supports various actuarial functions that include pricing, reserving, forecasting & experience analysisreporting. They provide advanced analysis to moderately complex, defined tasks & projects. This role recommends and implements techniques which support Assurant operations in achieving its goals related to revenue and profitability targets. The Actuarial Associate demonstrates the ability to understand direction provided in project deliverables, time management, and development. This role is expected to also participate in the department’s exam and rotational programs, which provides the opportunity to gain experience in numerous areas of the Actuarial organization while also understanding all products included in Assurant’s product suite. The Actuarial Associate reports to the Supervisor of Actuarial.
