Service Operations Specialist San Francisco Bay Area

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Supervisor of Operation Specialist and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, missionbased lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Hourly Rate: $27 $32

Shift: Monday–Friday, 7 am – 4 pm or 8 am 5 pm

Location: San Francisco area

• What we’re looking for

  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required; Associates degree or undergraduate degree in a business or sciencerelated field is a plus.
  • Experience: 35+ years of experience in Inventory controlprocurementshipping and receivingInside Sales, etc., a plus
  • Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Suite Experience
  • Will be using your own vehicle and ability to fly (If open to traveling further out)
  • Sites where coverage is provided require associates to be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID19
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Previous experience working in a GMP facility is strongly desired
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of Information Access and System ESS
  • Valid drivers license is required to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Traveling between multiple locations in the San Francisco area
  • Mileage reimbursement for miles driven from your door to the client location
  • Having a CDL is a plus, not a requirement
  • Crossreferencing and inside sales experience are a plus
  • Forklift Certification is a plus
  • Prior experience with VWRAvantor products and services, a plus
  • IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG a plus

    Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and hightech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and endtoend laboratory operations support.

    In this role you will:

    • Support multiple facilities andor customers in a strategic geographic area and may perform the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers, Glass Washers when scheduled vacations, leave, and or emergency situations occur.
    • Act as a backup to other territories and may require travel outside of the designated territory.
    • Coordinates and leads team efforts and performs work related to customer requirements.
    • Works closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, OnTheJob Training, and other assorted tasks, along with direct customer interfacing relative to job functions.
    • Interfaces directly with customer PointofContact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers etc. to procure lab supplies and materials.
    • Utilizes Avantor and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, andor other customerspecific applications.
    • Trains Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings.
    • Provides SAP Support (Full customer services, credit rebills, and invoice scrubbing).
    • Modifies and maintains quality metrics and key performance indicators.
    • Manages a budget related to expense reports.
    • Meets revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality goals and objectives
    • Creates programs for enhanced service efficiencies.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
