Job description

Compose.ly is recruiting exclusively on behalf of a major provider of online job training courses. We are seeking a writer with subject matter expertise in real estate to join our client’s in-house development team in a part-time contract role.

The contract includes 120 hours of work, with availability at 20-25 hours/week:

  • Rebuilding the real estate course catalog
  • Revamping the real estate library and CE series
  • Completing approximately 3-4 CE courses
    Delivering a high-priority project specific to South Carolina Real Estate Continuing Education

Writers will work from outlines and structured deliverables provided by the head writer.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain online course content related to real estate licensure and continuing education.
  • One course equates to about 40,000 words, including content and questions needed.
  • Collaborate with internal development and regulatory teams.
  • Follow provided outlines to draft or revise high-quality, accurate, and compliant educational content.
  • Strong researcher with an emphasis on accuracy, given the compliance-nature of the content
  • Ensure content reflects the latest regulatory changes across different states, with special emphasis on the South Carolina CE track.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Real estate license (broker or agent) OR at least 10 years’ experience writing for the industry
  • Familiarity with professional training courses, licensing requirements, and CE standards
  • Excellent command of the U.S. English grammar and spelling
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Successful completion of our grammar and writing assessments

Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience creating training content for an LMS
  • Real estate license or certifications
  • Degree in a related field
  • Familiarity with South Carolina CE requirements
