Job Description

We are seeking a Senior WordPress Developer to join our nearshore development team in Lisboa, Portugal. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining highquality WordPress websites and applications for our international clients.

• Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to deliver innovative web solutions
• Optimize website performance, security, and user experience
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex WordPress issues
• Implement responsive design and ensure crossbrowser compatibility
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices documentation
• Stay uptodate with emerging technologies and industry trends
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members across different time zones

• Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in WordPress development
  • Advanced knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Proficiency in developing custom WordPress themes and plugins
  • Strong understanding of WordPress core, including APIs and hooks
  • Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
  • Expertise in responsive design and mobilefirst development
  • Familiarity with MySQL and database optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of WordPress security best practices and performance optimization
  • Experience with nearshore development processes and crosscultural communication
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Portuguese is a plus
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (preferred)
  • WordPress certifications (preferred)
