      Job Description

      Were excited to announce that LBF is hiring a Legal AssistantParalegal for our Corporate Legal Department. This position will report to the Associate Counsel Marketing Compliance Manager.

      This vital new role will assist Legal by performing a variety of legal support duties, including facilitating LegalCompliance communications with the Marketing department and various Retail and Wholesale Sales channels; providing legal research; and assisting in marketing collateral and contract reviews.

      Responsibilities:

      • Serving as the initial marketing compliance contact point for the Marketing and Sales departments, including collecting applicable information for marketing requests and communicating initial legal requirements.
      • Support for marketing compliance responsibilities of in house counsel, including marketing collateral reviews and audits.
      • Assist in creating, editing, revising, proofreading and redlining documents (including legal contracts, agreements, letters, and other legal correspondence)
      • Researching and analyzing law sources such as statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, and legal articles related to the mortgage industry (including RESPA, TILA, ECOA, FCRA, Fair Housing Act, Dodd Frank, UDAAP, GLBA, HMDA, as well as FHAHUD and GNMA guidelines)
        • Qualifications

          • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and relevant job experience required
          • 2+ years Paralegal transactional experience preferably in real estate or mortgage industry required
          • Knowledge of consumer finance and residential mortgage regulations including RESPA, TILA, ECOA, FCRA, Fair Housing Act, Dodd Frank, UDAAP, GLBA, HMDA, as well as FHAHUD and GNMA guidelines
          • Knowledge of reverse mortgages a plus
          • Contracts review experience a plus
          • Excellent written communication skills along with strong comprehension and drafting skills
          • Experience performing legal research
          • Strong organizational, customer service skills and the ability to work with various business units
