About the Design Team

Were a tightknit team of product designers, researchers, and content designers working closely with engineers and product managers to research, explore, and iterate on wellcrafted user experiences that are innovative, engaging, and delightful. We collaborate regularly through design critiques, work sessions, and presentations to inspire and influence the direction of the product and company as a whole.

About the Role

We’re looking for a seasoned content designer with 01 experience and a portfolio that showcases significant generative AI product work. You’re excited to work at the forefront of AI technologies and are adept at collaborating with engineering and applied science to craft and refine prompts and evaluate the quality of AIgenerated content. You’re a systems thinker who effortlessly solves complex problems at scale and are adept at influencing up, down and sideways. You thrive in 01 spaces and enjoy taking big swings that don’t always pan out.

You have the analytical and problemsolving skills to work through complicated UI and UX on both mobile and web. As a content designer, you’ll be expected to create clear, consistent messaging while passionately advocating for the needs of the user. You’ll help drive product positioning and communication strategy alongside your design, product and marketing partners, and create delightful, intuitive product experiences that leverage your expertise in UX design and content strategy.

What youll do

• Design, write, edit, test and improve content across multiple touch points, including product flows, navigational elements, product names, emails, tutorials and notifications
• Collaborate on crossfunctional teams with designers, data analysts, researchers, engineers, product managers and marketing team members
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to influence product decisions, team direction and strategy
• Give and solicit feedback from UX design peers and contribute to the team through mentoring or onboarding
• Ensure a consistent voice and tone across Thumbtack product content, marketing channels and customer support
• Develop content frameworks and product narratives that explain your recommendations and help partners understand the practice of content design
• Independently and proactively identify opportunities for impactful AB copy tests and participate in user interviews

• In order to be successful, you must bring

  • 1+ year of experience working on AI products, preferably generative AI
  • 2+ years of experience working on 01 teams
  • 5+ years of professional writing experience
  • 4+ years of experience in UX writing or content design
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate successfully with design and product partners
  • Ability to work independently, juggle multiple work streams, and deliver on tight timelines
  • Portfolio of writing samples that highlight product content design and generative AI experiences

  • Expected salary ranges

    • For candidates living in San Francisco Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $178,500 $231,000
    • For candidates living in Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range for the role is currently $160,700 $207,900
    • For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $151,700 $196,400

    • Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
