Transform the foundation of Xentral’s SaaS platform!At Xentral, we’re on a mission to power growing businesses with smart, scalable software. As a Senior Software Engineer on our Platform team, you’ll help shape the critical services that drive productwide capabilities such as authentication, communication, payments, and security. You’ll be handson with complex challenges—from tackling technical debt in a legacy monolith to scaling performant microservices that serve thousands of users daily.
You’ll be part of the first team at Xentral to start the transition to microservices and take ownership of multiple critical systems. Your Tasks
You develop and maintain backend systems using PHP (Laravel), taking ownership of critical domains like authentication, email, CRM, and API security
You improve system performance by identifying bottlenecks across our monolith and microservices, with a deep focus on stability and scalability
You write and maintain automated tests (PHP Unit, Behat) and support QA in Playwright test integration to ensure platformwide quality and confidence
You modernize outdated systems—including legacy PHP, Vanilla JavaScript, and jQuery—while steadily reducing technical debt with a handson, solutionoriented approach
You zoom out to design solutions that prioritize customer experience and business impact, collaborating closely with engineers, QA, and product teams

Your Profile
You bring 5+ years of experience building backend systems in PHP and Laravel, ideally in complex, performancesensitive environments
You are skilled in test automation and quality engineering, with handson experience using PHP Unit, Behat, and a willingness to collaborate on Playwrightbased UI testing
You are comfortable improving and refactoring legacy systems, and take pride in making slow, outdated applications performant and maintainable
You have experience with or are open to learning Golang; familiarity with TypeScript, React, or Vite is a plus
You think beyond the code—understanding how your technical decisions influence the product, the customer journey, and longterm business goals
