We’re looking for a thoughtful and technically skilled Senior AI Automation Engineer to join our operations team and lead the development of scalable, intelligent automation systems. In this role, you’ll design and implement workflows that reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and streamline internal operations.
You’ll be expected to bring a deep understanding of modern automation orchestration platforms, along with the discernment to apply AI where it delivers meaningful value—whether that’s integrating LLMs for summarization and classification, or enhancing decisionmaking logic with intelligent APIs.
You’ll own the full lifecycle of your solutions, from scoped requirements through build, testing, deployment, and iteration. Success in this role requires technical fluency, comfort working independently, and the ability to strike the right balance between innovation and reliability in a fastmoving environment.
What You’ll Do
Build Automations – Develop and maintain endtoend automations across systems using lowcodenocode iPaaS and RPA tools, ensuring reliability and scalability.
Rapid Prototyping & Delivery – Quickly translate scoped automation needs into tangible solutions by spinning up lightweight proofs of concept or conducting feasibility assessments—delivering insights in short, iterative build cycles.
Leverage APIs – Utilize various APIs to connect platforms, enrich process logic or data flows, and extend the capabilities of internal and thirdparty platforms.
CRM Integration & Enhancement – Build workflows, optimize processes, and manage automation integrations between CRMs (i.e. Salesforce, Hubspot) and other internal tools.
Data Structuring & Manipulation – Normalize, transform, and move JSON or other structured payloads cleanly through workflows to ensure clean handoffs and outputs in automations.
Systems Improvement – Identify and recommend minor configuration changes, upgrades, and addons in CRM and automation platforms that pave the way for new functionality or improvements on existing and future automations and processes.
Testing & QA – Validate solutions before handoff, build guardrails for failsafe execution, and establish clear logging and error alerts.
Documentation & Maintenance – Create clean technical documentation and ensure automations are reliable, maintainable, and scalable.
Who You Are
3–5 years of experience in an automation, process improvement, business operations, or systems enablement role in a highgrowth environment where speed, detail, and autonomy are expected.
Deep handson experience with lowcodenocode platforms such as: n8n, Zapier, Make, Workato, or others and strong technical familiarity with CRM systems, particularly HubSpot or Salesforce.
Selfdriven and adaptable — you’re a quick learner who can independently ramp up on new platforms, APIs, or tools, and enjoy figuring things out in fastchanging environments.
Passionate about leveraging AI — You bring deep experience integrating LLMs or AI APIs (like OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini) into automation workflows to drive intelligent decisionmaking, classification, or summarization.
An eye for system design and a bias toward curiosity — you ask “why,” not just “how,” and know how to balance perfection with pragmatism. You approach blockers with creativity, resourcefulness, and a problemsolving mindset.
Act as an internal Product Owner for the tools and automations you build—owning their full lifecycle, from initial development to usability, documentation, iterative improvements, and longterm maintenance.
Fluency with modern APIs and structured data — Confident working with structured data formats like JSON and XML, and experienced in consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs using tools such as Postman or browser dev tools.
Proficient in designing resilient, decisionbased workflows — including complex conditional logic (branching, loops, filters, error handling), timebased automations (cron jobs, scheduled triggers), and asynchronous patterns (webhooks, polling, eventdriven logic).
Strong written communicator and systems collaborator — you write clear documentation, create technically detailed tickets, and keep stakeholders informed using asynchronous tools like Slack, Notion, Coda, Linear, or Asana.
Understanding of data normalization and sync strategies — especially in multisource environments where records may originate or be updated across multiple platforms (e.g., CRM, billing, support tools, or disparate third party vendors). You know how to design automations that standardize data formats, manage field mappings, prevent duplication or data drift, and handle partial updates or conflicting sourceoftruth scenarios.
Familiarity with databases and data modeling — including vendors like Airtable, PostgreSQL, Supabase, or similar, and baseline understanding of SQL.
Understanding of modern integration patterns — including authentication protocols like OAuth2, API keytokenbased auth, and JWT. Able to confidently manage secure connections between platforms and troubleshoot token lifecycles or permission scopes.
A knack for debugging and deciphering error logs, failed jobs, and webhook mysteries.
Nice to Haves
Experience with RPA tools like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Robocorp.
Experience with workflow observability and logging tools.
Experience with browser automation frameworks like Playwright (or similar tools such as Puppeteer or Selenium) — used for automating interactions with web interfaces, scraping structured data, or validating UI flows as part of automated workflows.
Baseline understanding of HTML, CSS, and other web technologies — enough to inspect DOM elements, understand frontend structure, and support automation or scraping efforts when needed.
Comfort with CLI tools and scripting environments — proficient using terminalbased utilities and lightweight scripts (e.g., curl, bash) for tasks like triggering webhooks, testing APIs, manipulating data, or interacting with cloud platforms.
Familiarity with data lifecycle and compliance practices, especially for automations that touch sensitive or regulated data.
