Position: Business Development Manager
Report to Title: Senior Director, Service Provider Segment
Location: US Remote
Position Overview:
C&D Technologies is seeking a dynamic technical sales professional for the position of Business Development Manager for the Stationary North America Service Provider market segment. This position is an integral part of the National Account Sales Team, primarily responsible for strategic planning, sales management, and prospecting for new clients to help grow an organization.
Principal Attributes Required:
Technical sales background with the ability to understand and articulate product solutions
An elevated understanding of the Telecom Sector (network, applications, operations)
An elevated understanding of the CableMSO Sector (network, applications, and operations)
An extensive professional network within the two target sectors
Roles & Responsibilities:
Setting goals and developing plans for business and revenue growth
Strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive
Researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives
Pursuing leads and moving them through the sales cycle
Generating leads through cold calling prospective clients or networking at trade shows
Developing and nurturing relationships with key customer accounts
Keeping up with the latest industry developments, including market positioning of corporate competitors
Assessing client needs and the company’s ability to meet those needs.
Preparing status reports on goals
Fundamental Skills:
Communication skills: Must be able to communicate with clients of all backgrounds and educational levels. Welldeveloped written and verbal communication skills are musthaves.
Organizational skills: Must be comfortable juggling numerous clients, on and offsite meetings, and deadlines. In addition, must be highly organized to manage the many parts of the job and keep client proposals and other tasks on track.
Timemanagement skills: Must understand how to prioritize their time and comfortable managing a calendar and adjusting their schedule as needed.
Technical and computer skills: Must have basic technical and computer skills to use a sales customer relationship management system (CRM) to track leads and client calls and document where each prospect is in the sales cycle.
Drive and selfmotivation: Must be goaloriented and commissiondriven.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Preferred BABS with a concentration in electrical or mechanical engineering, and sales marketing.
15 years of industry salesengineering experience preferred.
FamiliarityProficient with common office software platforms.
