Sr. Manager Energy Procurement OPERATIONS

REMOTE USA

 

SUMMARY:

 

Senior Manager Energy Procurement Operations provides management and leadership of the energy procurement analysis team to internal and external strategic-level clients.  This position is responsible for managing the development and facilitation of advanced market analysis, risk management, product development, pricing and sales support & training for the energy supply management team in a global environment.  Additional tasks include; supporting transition from sales to delivery for clients, RFP responses, supplier/client visit coordination and company initiatives that require support of a product manager.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Energy Procurement Analyst group.
  • Provide leadership and coordination to managerial peers.
  • Develop and maintain a training program for Energy Procurement Analyst Team in the areas of RFP development, market assessment, risk management, strategy development, contract negotiation, contract management, and product management.
  • Develop and maintain analyst process guidebooks coordinating procurement tasks amongst all stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain progression plans for the advancement of junior analysts.
  • Provide motivation and team building activities for staff.
  • Perform hiring and other talent acquisition activities coordinated with Human Resources.
  • Provides sales SME support related to procurement to include product pricing and training along with client presentations.
  • Develop and maintain Procurement Presentation templates, webinar presentations and product marketing templates.
  • Develop tools and processes that improve procurement product delivery, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Perform process improvement using LEAN principles.  
  • Direct efforts to accelerate the delivery of high value products and product improvements to market.
  • Meet regularly with supplier vendors, including in-person visits and teleconferences. 
  • Participate in client meetings when needed to research and implement options for custom product solutions and delivery requests to include RFP responses.
  • Develop and implement complex energy procurement and risk management strategies.
  • Assist in client onboarding framework and processes.

The pay range for this role is: $ 71,000-120,000

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Additional ENGIE benefits include a 401k plan, paid time off and annual bonus. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification/

Knowledge

 

 

  • Four-year college degree or 10 years management experience required.  Masters Degree or equivalent desired.

Experience: 

 

 

  • Five years of relevant experience, particularly in the areas of energy procurement, finance, risk management, or quantitative analysis.
  • Utility experience or knowledge of utility bill calculations required.
  • Sales experience a plus.

 

Skills/Abilities:

 

 

 

  • Ability to work independently within the highest levels of a client organization.
  • Advanced Excel and Word skill level required.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, flexible, adaptable and self-motivated.
  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting utility, tariff, and wholesale market data
  • Ability to handle deadlines and high stress situations on a periodic basis.
  • Must be able to travel regularly.

                                   

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Typical office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Performing duties and attending events during the evening and on the weekend occurs occasionally and may be required
  • Traveling off-site to a local event or to build teams will occur regularly, including overseas travel.
  • Incumbent may be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones, office machines, and nearby oral communications among fellow employee

REQUIRED PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use a computer for a long period of time
  • Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents
  • Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, in handwritten forms, and printed on paper
  • Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone
  • Ability to lift and carry a stack of forms and documents weighing up to 15 pounds
