Project Manager, Level 1


Burgos Group is seeking a Construction Project Manager, Level 1 to support multiple federal construction projects being managed out of our New Mexico and New Jersey offices. This position is remote with a minimum of 25% travel to our offices and job sites as needed.


The Project Manager, Level 1, assists the Project Manager with the planning, scheduling and coordinating of all phases of a project. This includes subcontractor relations, cost accounting and billing procedures, procurement, and liaison with owners, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers. Must be well versed using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Access) and scheduling software (Primavera andor MS Project). Experience with Federal contracting is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Level 1 Project Managers are involved in planning and executing projects, often focusing on specific tasks or phases of a larger project.

      • Stakeholder Communication:
        • They communicate project status, changes, and potential issues to various stakeholders, including team members, crossfunctional teams, and external vendors.

          • Task Management and Tracking:
            • They utilize tools to plan timelines, track tasks, and ensure deadlines are met.

              • Resource Allocation:
                • They may assist with allocating resources, budgets, and hours to the project.

                  • Documentation and Reporting:
                    • They prepare project documentation, meeting agendas, and project summaries.

                      • Problem Solving and Risk Mitigation:
                        • They identify and resolve issues related to scope, budget, and resource allocation, and develop mitigation plans for potential risks.

                          • Quality Assurance:
                            • They may participate in testing and quality assurance processes to validate project outcomes.

                              • Communication and Collaboration:
                                • Level 1 Project Managers communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and other relevant parties.

                                  • Compliance:
                                    • They ensure projects adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

                                      • Performance Monitoring:
                                        • They monitor project performance against set goals and timelines.

                                          Requirements

                                          • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural or related field preferred

                                          • Demonstrated experience in estimating and managing selfperformed work activities and subcontracted work
                                          • Must possess knowledge of standard commercial construction practices.
                                          • Experienced with Microsoft Project or other scheduling software.
                                          • Ability to read plans.

                                          • Minimum 2 years construction work experience and be able to travel to job sites as needed.

                                          • Must be able to pass a Federal background check and be a US citizen.
